Mentos and Coke Breaking World Records…

Files under Funny Videos | 5 Comments

Would you believe there is a world record for number of mentos-diet coke geysers going off simultaneously?

A mentos-diet coke geyser is what you get when you put mentos in a bottle of diet coke. The mentos cause the coke to shoot up into the air giving you a fountain/geyser effect.

Here’s a video of them breaking the record with 1360 of these little fountains recently:

Gotta love it!

For Some Good Clean Fun…

I never thought that soap would make it to my site for best of stupid things…

That was of course before I saw this:

Weener Kleener Soap

What I really admire about this is their warning label on the bottom that reads: “Caution: If the Weener Kleener ever becomes stuck, soak the area with COLD water.”

Yes, this soap is available for purchase. You can click on the picture above to go directly to the sales page, or visit The Lighter Side Co. to see this and their other “novelty gifts”. They actually have quite a nice array of gifts and unusual items, I was just naturally attracted to see what products were under the “Sassy/Attitude” category.

Anyone ever seen this before? Do you find this soap offensive? What would your reactions be if someone gave it to you as a gift?

The Mouser Catalog

Files under Everything Else | 2 Comments

A few months ago we ordered a few electronic components from a company called Mouser.com. Since then we’ve been receiving this lovely 2500+ page catalog in the mail.

At first we thought it wasn’t very smart for them to mail us this 5 lb. catalog in the mail each month, especially since we only spent about $15 online and probably will not need to buy anything from them again anytime soon.

Now that we’ve come up with some new creative uses for the Mouser Catalog however, we’ve actually started to look forward to seeing them dumped in the ditch below our mailbox. (A 2500+ page catalog does not fit in a standard sized mailbox!)

For one, this catalog makes a wonderful fire starter. Crumple up a few pages and it ignites faster than newspaper, giving you a nice cozy fire to snuggle up in front of. These catalogs also make great stepping stools for reaching those hard to reach top shelf items in the kitchen. It makes a great baby toy, as babies will sit and rip out the pages and tear them to tiny shreds. This is far more entertaining to them than rattles or silly things that make annoying noises.

The catalogs are also great for making paper airplanes and other papercrafts. We thought about wallpapering our bathroom and kitchen with the pages as well. (With 2500 11×8 sheets of paper, we’d probably have enough to also do a border in our bedrooms as well!) The catalogs are also useful for propping up unlevel chairs and tables. We are thinking after we get a few more we might actually build a couch and coffee table from the catalogs.

Have any other creative ideas for us to use for our Mouser Catalog?

This Week on Ebay 4.25

Today I thought I’d take a look at some of the unique advertising options you can bid on at ebay…

Our first option we saw was to advertise on this seller’s girlfriend:

For $500 she’ll wear t-shirts, hats, get a temporary tattoo or whatever else you can think of for her to do to advertise your product. I think she’s look great in a t-shirt that says “Best of Stupid: My boyfriend selling me on ebay.” I find it hard to believe a guy willing to sell his girlfriend on ebay would actually have a girlfriend…

For $200 you can advertise on this guy’s forehead:

I think “Best of Stupid” would look pretty good on his forehead, what do you think?

If neither of those options work for you, you can bid on this beautiful onion peel:

You get one stinky onion peel and an ad on this guy’s website…This could be useful if his website had more than 3 pages, some content, and a sad list of 3-4 other people who bought an onion peel. So you pretty much get a worthless backlink and a stinky onion peel. Is that a smart use of your advertising budget or what?

You know where you can go to see more - Click here for eBay!
