This Guy’s Not Creepy at All…

Files under Everything Else | 1 Comment

It’s always nice to be reminded that late night TV is still as I’ve always known it to be. It seems late night TV is targeted to the desperate, the lonely, the failures at life. Afterall, isn’t it while watching late night TV you see all the scammy infomercials about making money in a real estate business and knife sets you don’t really need or will never use.

Tonight while watching Fox News we saw a commercial for this guy:

Proposal Man

He is Proposal Man! And he’s here to help you pop the big question of asking someone to marry you. My first not-so-nice thought was yeah, he’s probably had a lot of chances to propose after being rejected so many times.

I could be wrong about him, as I know it’s not right to always judge people on appearances…but just the level of tackiness in his website (you can see it here) and that greasy used car salesman hairstyle makes me wonder what he might know about dating and relationship advice, let alone marriage proposal ideas.. I just don’t think he portrays the right image for me to feel confident about his advice on sweeping someone off their feet and asking them to marry you, unless you’re going for that perfect balance of tacky and creepy.

Why is this the the kind of commercials you see on late night TV? Are they scared somebody will actually see them? Is their budget tight? Are there studies that prove only suckers watch TV after 11 pm?

Am I Losing My Touch?

I think I might be losing my touch at taking pictures of stupid things. Yesterday I saw two completely stupid things and it didn’t dawn on me to snap pictures until we were much farther down the road.

The first was a guy with a dump truck and a backhoe in tow that got stuck under a bridge. Traffic was ALL messed up because this guy didn’t think that his backhoe might not have fit under the low underpass. They tried lowering the backhoe, tried moving it off the trailer…no avail, we sat there for a good half hour in traffic while cars tried to swerve around them and they blocked the lane to get unstuck. Those clearance signs on the bridges are there for a reason!

The second was a guy on a bicycle (I have a thing against people who ride bicycles in stupid/dangerous places) going the WRONG way on a one way highway exit. Definitely illegal, and definitely not smart.

But I must be losing my touch. I don’t have any pictures to share with you today. Just stories of people doing dumb things that I saw, but wasn’t fast enough to snap the picture.

This Week on Ebay 7.9

Here’s my weekly dose of stupid things for sale on eBay for you:

Hey Look! It’s a Brown Paper Bag!

Rock

This empty brown paper bag was found next to a park bench and a tree. Why do you need it? According to the seller: “You know, we may not have paper bags in the near future and this could really be worth a small fortune to a collector. You could start a museum with this brown paper bag right there in your home. Frame it! Preserve it. When people stop by, you can brag “HEY LOOK!” I WON THIS BROWN PAPER BAG!”

I don’t foresee brown paper bags becoming obsolete anytime soon, nor do I think taking the family to the a brown paper bag museum sounds like an exciting memorable moment in life. You never know though…it’s current bid is at $5.50 at the time of this posting.

Next, The One and Only Pissed River Rock

rock

You don’t want to mess with this rock. See the scowl on his face? He needs a home that has happy rocks to live in. I don’t think he really looks that mad though. He looks more frustrated or sad than angry. His current bid is 99 cents if you want to volunteer to help this angry/sad/dejected rocks feel better.

Always some pretty creative stupid stuff you can find on eBay. Want to learn more about these bids or see what other fun stuff you can find on your own? Click here for eBay!

Oops…A New Meaning to Chinese Take-Out

Last night we were eating out at one of our favorite Chinese Restaurants when the funniest thing happened to the lady at the table beside us.

I couldn’t react fast enough to snap a picture (we were laughing WAY too hard) but will try to recreate what happened here through pictures.

Here is what the restaurant looks like:

She was sitting at the round table, we were at the booth directly next to them.

The waiter came out with their food…and dropped her ENTIRE MEAL right into her purse that was sitting on the floor!

So imagine something looking like this:

All over and inside this:

That poor lady…it was so funny…and of course he was apologizing up and down and trying to get everything out of the purse…everything was covered in garlic shrimp & rice & veggies!

The people at the table were so mad, which made me feel bad for the waiter. I understand accidents happen. It probably didn’t help matters though that we couldn’t stop laughing about it!

Crocs are Stupid, Too…

It’s not often I visit the mall, maybe about once every few years. Crocs, those shoes that everybody swears “are soooooooooo comfortable!” still look, well, pretty ugly. But the point of this post is not to showcase these ugly shoes, but the fifty million kiosks selling them in one location:

crocs

Upon visiting the mall, it seems they no longer sell anything except crocs. Maybe they do in those other stores, but you have to trip over a kiosk selling crocs every 10 feet to find anything else.

Are we as consumers this stupid that we even if we do want to buy these stupid crocs that we need them every 10 feet to find them?
