Recently there have been a few examples of how stupidly people can act with guns. Gun violence is a big problem that many of us have probably become desensitized about - since it seems everyday people are senselessly shot and killed.
Here were the two headlines that really stood out to being stupid to me:
Plaxico Burress Shoots Himself in the Leg
You may or may not know who Plaxico Burress is, but he is a football player for the NY Giants. He was out at a club and shot himself in the thigh by accident with an illegal weapon. Smart. Read the news story here.
Two Shot Dead at Toys R Us on Black Friday
This video shows most of the details about this senseless shooting between people shopping on Black Friday. Glad I did all of my Christmas shopping online!

Some of this is just insane like the black friday shooting. But people have owned guns ever since they were created and will still own them long after we are gone no matter how easy or not so easy to obtain. The whole Plaxico situation really makes me giggle though. I really like how the mayor came on TV stating that he should be prosecuted to the fullest and minimum 3 year jail term for just carrying it into the club. Yep that’s the law but he’ll probably get off just like p-diddy did. Oh BTW, yes I have guns and I have kids as well, but my guns are under combo lock and key and never shall the two meet without me in the middle teaching appropriate usage and handling as my father taught me.

As I see it, anyone who wants a gun would be able to obtain one whether they were illegal or not. I used to live in Europe, in a country where it was illegal to own guns outside of the police / military..yet SOMEHOW the criminals still obtained them.
Since then I’ve grown fond of the Texas mentality, if everyone has a gun, people are afraid to use them out of concern for bring killed by others in retaliation.

I don’t believe any kind of gun control is going to stop criminals for getting their hands on one, but it would probably stop a lot of stupid people from shooting themselves.
I own several guns (I like to hunt),and I would just like to take this opportunity to maybe help out a stupid person who owns one:
