You may have noticed today that Google “turned the lights out” for to raise awareness for energy conservation…so they made their background black instead of white as usually expected.

For all the people who thought that a black screen on a monitor saves more energy than a white one…we give you this:

And if you’ve decided to sit in the dark with your laptop on…then you’re really missing the point…just as everyone else who thinks that sitting in the dark is going to make a real difference in your electric bill or to the electric companies.

You’d be better off to drive to Wal-mart in your SUV and get some compact fluorescent light bulbs.
